About Us

STUART C. MCGEHEE: Hello there! I’m Stuart, the Founder and a Principal Owner of Pacific Northwest Asset Management, LLC. I have over 25 years of direct and indirect financial industry experience, and I’m a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Seattle, although I’m not a CFA charterholder like Michael. Besides the last 6 years at PNW Asset Management, my career experience includes over a decade and a half of institutional fixed income sales at First Tennessee Bank, Capital Markets Division and at Countrywide Capital Markets, now part of Bank of America Merrill Lynch.; investment adviser representative at FSG Investment Management, LLC (now Telarray Advisors), a registered investment adviser; financial planning software engineering, sales, and support; Investor Relations at FedEx; and mortgage loan origination and servicing software sales. I’m an investment adviser representative who has passed the Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam and who previously also passed the Series 24, 7, 52, and 63 securities exams.

I’m also the author of The Best Kept Secret on Wall Street (available on Amazon). My education includes a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Vanderbilt University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. I serve on the board of First Sound Bank, a locally-owned independent community bank in Seattle providing commercial and private banking services throughout the Puget Sound market. For 5 years, I also served as a board member of the Downtown Memphis (TN) Commission and was the Board Treasurer and Board Secretary. I’m a Board member, V.P., and former Board Secretary of the McGehee Family Foundation. I’m a Big Climb Seattle volunteer. This massive stair-climbing event at Columbia Tower supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Washington and Alaska. I’m also Ops Chief of the Boeing Seafair Air Show, a volunteer position in Seattle. It’s hard work, but it’s a blast!

As a committed conservationist, I’m proud to say I have, over the past 15 years, donated conservation easements on over 1,300 acres of prime recreational land to Wetlands America Trust, one of the nation’s largest accredited land trusts holding conservation easements on more than 400,000 acres. As a result, these 1,300 acres can never be developed and must remain in their natural state. That’s kind of cool, right? I was also a member of the 2010-2011 Ducks Unlimited, Inc. President’s Council.

For fun, I really like to get outdoors and enjoying the Pacific Northwest! You’ll find me hiking, boating, or swimming on the weekends. My daughter, Becca, and I love to go snorkeling (in wetsuits, of course) in Puget Sound waters and in area lakes (Lake Crescent rocks!). We recently floated a portion of the Quillayute River in our wetsuits! My wife HATES cold water, so she stays on the shore or on the boat.Michael Bowers

MICHAEL B. BOWERS, CFA, CPA: Hello! I’m Michael, and I’m a Partner and a Principal Owner of Pacific Northwest Asset Management, LLC. Besides the last 5 years at PNW Asset Management, my financial services industry experience includes positions at Conover Capital Management and at TransAmerica Financial Advisors, Inc. Throughout my entire career, I have dealt with complex financial and accounting matters. I’m an investment adviser representative, and I earned a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder designation in 2005. I’m a member of the CFA Institute, and I’m active in the CFA Society Seattle. I’m also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and I’m Chairman of the Personal Financial Planning Committee of the Washington Society of CPAs.

My education includes a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Mexico plus an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of New Mexico. I’m on the Issaquah, WA Chamber of Commerce Finance Committee, and I previously served as a Board member and as the Board’s treasurer.

For fun, my family and I LOVE to hike many of the beautiful venues in the Pacific Northwest. Although we’ve hiked all over the PNW, we favor the Cascade Mountains, especially Mt. Rainier! We’ll snowshoe in the winter and hit the trails all summer! Recently, I’ve refreshed my sailing skills and begun to enjoy sailing the Puget Sound waters from Shillshole Bay Marina.
